ASSESSING YOUR SCHOOL SITE

Duration: 30 to 45 min.

Objective: This course has been designed to help you understand what site assessments are and how they can be used to inform your school emergency operations plans (EOPs) and safety, security, emergency management, and preparedness (school safety) programs. Learn important site assessment guiding principles such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and Universal Design, as well as tools that you may use to conduct a comprehensive site assessment. This course is recommended for members of site assessment teams and/or core planning teams, as well as school, school district, and community partner personnel with a role and/or responsibility in school safety.

Module 1–Introduction to Site Assessments
Module 2–Building Design Principles
Module 3–Application of the Data
