In 2017, the REMS TA Center released guidance for training on adult sexual misconduct (ASM) awareness and prevention in schools, developing ASM policies and procedures, and recognizing the role of social media and technology in ASM. Schools can use A Training Guide for Administrators and Educators on Addressing Adult Sexual Misconduct in the School Setting (ASM Training Guide) to update their emergency operations plans and/or related ASM policies and procedures to align with national, state, and local recommendations, including the Guide for Developing High-Quality School Emergency Operations Plans. The intended audience of this guidance document is school safety leaders and members of core planning teams at K-12 schools (public, nonpublic, charter, rural, etc.) and school districts. The ASM Training Guide may be accessed in two formats on the REMS TA Center Website.
