On Friday, September 22nd, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, the REMS TA Center, on behalf of ED’s OSHS, hosted a Webinar on how K-12 schools and institutions of higher education can better plan to mitigate the effects of emergency events and create more resilient sites.

Presenters described key considerations for mitigation; presented the process for including mitigation activities in planning efforts; described how school and IHE mitigation and resiliency plans integrate with those at the local and state level; and shared practical examples of how schools and an IHE have made their campuses more resilient to emergencies. This event also featured a dedicated 15-minute Q&A session during which presenters fielded questions from participants.

This 1 hour Webinar included a PowerPoint presentation as well as a Question and Answer session following the presentation.
