On Friday, August 25, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, the REMS TA Center, on behalf of ED's OSHS, hosted a Webinar on how K-12 schools and districts can better plan to recover from emergency events and be ready for a range of threats and hazards.

Presenters described key considerations for recovery; presented the process for including recovery activities in planning efforts; and shared lessons learned from the 2014 Washington Oso landslide, Washington wildfires, Marysville-Pilchuck High School active shooter situation, and the Moore, Oklahoma tornado in 2013. During the Webinar, presenters focused on the four recovery components of academics; physical and structural; business functions; and social, emotional, and behavioral recovery.

This 1 hour Webinar included a PowerPoint presentation. Following the presentation, the presenters answered participant questions in a Question and Answer session and a Community of Practice Web Chat.
