Details

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET, the REMS TA Center and the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Office of Safe and Healthy Students (OSHS) hosted a Webinar on the topic of adult sexual misconduct (ASM) in schools, and how schools and school districts can address this issue through the framework of their emergency operations plan (EOP). The Webinar provided an overview of the issue and recommended ways to prevent incidences of ASM, such as through the development of appropriate policies and procedures, and effective training of school personnel. It also gave direction on how to integrate ASM into a school or district EOP through the six-step planning process recommended in the Guide for Developing High-Quality School Emergency Operations Plans (School Guide). More information on the topic of addressing ASM in schools can be found in A Training Guide for Administrators and Educators on Addressing Adult Sexual Misconduct in the School Setting, the REMS TA Center’s guide designed to help schools and school districts understand and address ASM.

This 1 hour Webinar included a PowerPoint presentation. Following the presentation, the presenters answered participant questions in a Question and Answer session.
