Step 4: Help Schools Develop Plans (Identify Courses of Action)

In Step 4, the school core planning team develops courses of action to accomplish each objective identified in Step 3 for threats, hazards, and functions. In this step, the school core planning team plays a primary role in using the goals and objectives created by the district in Step 3 to develop site-specific courses of action that are customized to its school building(s). The district plays a secondary role in supporting schools in this process.

Step 4 Outcomes

After completing Step 4, the school core planning team has

  1. Developed courses of action for threats, hazards, and functions;
  2. Selected courses of action for inclusion in the school EOP; and
  3. Finalized and formatted the Threat- and Hazard-Specific Annexes section of the school EOP.
